1. Who we are

TapDish is a cooking app that helps you turn social cooking videos and ingredients into saved recipes. For privacy questions, contact haris.code.v@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use TapDish, we may process:

• Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier from Apple and, if you share it, your name and email.
• Profile details. Optional username, profile photo, language, and measurement preference you set in the app.
• Cookbook content. Recipes you save (titles, ingredients, steps, tips, cover images), plus links you paste or share into the app.
• Onboarding answers. Optional age range, gender, and creator referral codes you choose to provide.
• Purchase status. Subscription entitlement for TapDish+ via Apple and RevenueCat (we do not receive your full payment card details).
• Usage analytics. Product events such as onboarding, guide, and paywall interactions (via PostHog), to improve the app.
• Technical data. Basic diagnostics needed to run the service (for example request logs on our servers).

3. How we use information

• Provide your cookbook, recipe extraction, generation, and cook mode.
• Process cooking links you submit (for example TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube Shorts) using third-party tools and AI to structure a recipe.
• Manage free limits and TapDish+ subscriptions.
• Remember language and measurement preferences.
• Understand product usage and fix issues.
• Respond to support requests.

4. AI and media processing

When you paste or share a cooking link, we may fetch public caption text, comments, thumbnails, and (when needed) audio from the video so we can build a recipe. That content may be sent to AI providers (currently OpenAI) to check whether a recipe is present and to structure ingredients and steps. Do not submit private content you are not allowed to share.

5. How we share information

We share data only with processors needed to run TapDish, such as:

• Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store subscriptions)
• RevenueCat (subscription status)
• OpenAI (recipe structuring / generation)
• Hosting and database providers for our API and storage
• Cloudflare R2 (recipe and profile images, when configured)
• PostHog (product analytics)
• Scraping providers used to read public social captions (for example Apify for TikTok)

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service and users.

6. Retention

We keep account and cookbook data while your account is active. You can sign out in the app. To request deletion of your account data, email haris.code.v@gmail.com from the address associated with your Apple account. We may retain limited records as required for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

7. Children

TapDish is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. International users

Our servers and processors may be located outside your country. By using TapDish, you understand your information may be processed in those locations with appropriate safeguards where required.

10. Your choices

• Update profile, language, and units in Settings.
• Manage or cancel TapDish+ in your Apple ID subscriptions.
• Contact us to request access or deletion of personal data we hold.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date.
